Side Panels
Side panels serve a similar purpose to modals, but the main difference between these two options is that the side panel doesn’t demand attention or block the whole screen like a modal does. Side panels should actually push the page content inward as much as possible before horizontal scrolling is needed. This can be helpful for allowing users to quickly preview items in a list or navigate away from the view altogether.
